Factors affecting a person's mental health.

Positive factors:

  1. Sense of purpose: Setting goals having passion or having a reason to live and move forward in life for the betterment of others contributes a lot to a positive outlook and mental well-being.
  2. Control over emotions: Controlling our impulsive reactions and managing them finding healthy ways to express our emotions without causing harm to others and adjusting our responses and reactions based on the situation can enhance our emotional regulation and lead to better mental health.
  3. Coping strategies: Developing techniques to handle stress anxiety or intense emotions in constructive ways such as deep breathing mindfulness or seeking social support can result in positive mental health.

Negative factors:

  1. Stress: A body's natural response to any sort of pressure or demand in its physical emotional or mental state is called stress, when it becomes overwhelming it can harm mental health.
  2. Trauma: Refers to an emotional or psychological response to a distressing or disturbing event it can result from various experiences, including accidents, violence abuse natural disasters, or other life-threatening situations.
  3. Abuse: Abuse refers to mistreatment harm or control inflicted by one individual upon another these can lead to to mental health problems like anxiety and depression.

Negative judgement about mental health in our society

Some people in our society these days believe that people with mental health issues are dangerous. individual might dace isolation, prejudice, or discrimination in various aspects of their life including work, education and relationship. these types of responses often discourage individual's from seeking support or treatment for fear of being judged or labeled this can lead to a feeling of shame, low self- esteem and reluctance to acknowledge or discuss health issues.

The importance of creating mental health awareness

Educating people about mental health helps break down stereotypes and reduces the stigma associated with mental illness. this encourages individuals to seek help without fear of judgement. Awareness campaigns can encourage early recognition of mental health issues leading to early intervention and treatment when people are aware of signs and symptoms, they are likely to seek help and avoid major future crises.
